Di ko na mapagkasya to sa isang comment so i decided na post na lang...

when i mean power of brains, i dinn't mean just math... i mean all it does is get you data and you can interpret... these data will help me interpret what you people want... i'll soon bew conducting a small survey... and bea... i see you too are trying your best na pigilan na ung mga gumagamit ng pangalan mo... Try your best to regulate them, if you really are disturbed by them, as for me, I'll continue this fight because this school year has better turned me into a leader than i was back in the honor section. I'll admit it honestly, I was more of a follower than a leader, but now, I've seen the effects of being one. Hindi niyo ba ako nakikita na when there's something that must be done, I push you to do it?

I'll be there saying things like "...People, Prayer!!!! Prayer Leader!!!!..." or maybe "...Ano pa ba puedeng madagdag dito? mga kulay?..." or "...Guys, kinig na kayo..." or "...Halika na!! Simulan na natin ung group work!!..."

Hindi ba ginagawa ko itong mga ito before pa? But some just ignore me... pester me... laugh at me... like I'm some kind of worthless piece of junk na nasa tabi lang...

Kumbaga, parang existence lang na walang kayang gawin... I'll admit that I was irresponsible at times, yet who have you seen such passion for something? Yang mga math seminar/contest and orchestra ko, do you think i just go for it just for the sake of doing it? the grade? the insentive? NO!!! I do it, because it is what i want, and running for EVP is what i want.

power of brains, you ask? When was the last time that you really got scared? during a movie? a freakishly deadly nightmare? losing a friend? a celphone? what i'm really scared of is not being able to use this brain of mine to be able to do service to others. Many of our people have brains, but do they really use it? You'll see people get grades of 99, 98, 97, 96, etc... but what are they for? LSYC? YFC? SI? no offense to these organizations, but you can do a whole lot better than just these... service to the lord and self-understanding is also important, but haven't we been doing this since, i dunno grade 2 or 3? Kung kulang pa rin, ay palagi ka yatang nawawala sa tamang daan... kailangan mo nga ito...

sense of companionship and peers? This is all peer pressure. you still see each other everyday. walang katapusang kwento. then sasabihin mo bonding period... this is ridiculous. De La Salle Zobel is first and foremost an academic institution that allows a holistic formation of the Christian person, yet if you can't balance all else, then, Zobel has failed you.

To chio and all those na naglalagay ng negative comments, if you really have nothing good to say, or pura platawa lang, just keep it to yourselves, wag niyo na ikalat. Di rin naman nakakatawa a... just for laughs? do you even think what you did was funny? anong nakakatawa doon? ung pinaglalaitan niyo ako? yung pagseseryoso ko sa inyo? who even started it? It's all in your mind, yang nakakatawa... find a hundred people who will find what you did funny... sige pag nagawa niyo, maniniwala ako just for laughs nga lang ito...

To ryan and berna at iba pa, thank you sa lahat ng support nyo, kahit nung isang araw lang ako nagdecide mag run... pray for me to do my best sa upcoming meeting de avance at elections... thanks!!!

Can you believe this? I'm running for EVP. Honestly, I never ever had any intention of running until the Voter's Education thing. I mean, having a Sophomore for President is absurd and outrageous. In my humble opinion, if one Sophomore enters the execom, that reflects that our batch is worthless as anyone of us could have run, yet didn't even attempt to run and ruined the whole democratic process that we call election. One party alone does not allow democracy wherein people have the right to choose their government leaders. That is why I have decided to run for a position in our student government, the SRCC. I know that being a president is already too much for someone like me, whose experience in politics has only been in grade 1 when I was the treasurer and Grade 7 when I was the secretary for my club, the Beginning Band. I just hoipe you'll help me all in making this democratic process a success and even if I don't win, thank you for voting or not voting for me, but I will do my best to win. To all those who think I won't win just because my counterpart in the other party is hugely influential, especially with her parents, think again. You'll see the power of brains against popularity.

Top Ten Tips in making "sipsip" to teachers

Plan ahead. That is the key to success.
Try and foresee all possible outcomes.
Treat it as a debate, yet present it as a friendly conversation, especially if bringing up an argument.
Timing is everything. If done wrong timely, the consequences can be devastating.
Start your conversation with something related to the subject area he or she teaches, which should have a positive insight. This is to get the attention of the teacher and make him or her notice you. You may never know, but this may also be a good opportunity to make a friend in the faculty/administration.
Prove that you are trustworthy. If you have a discipline problem, this may pose as a challenge.
Try to get good grades and recite frequently. If you are an honor certificate awardee/former honor section member, this should not be too much of a problem.
Outline all your thoughts and arguments in your mind before putting it into action; remember that to the teacher, this must appear spontaneous.
Don't be nervous. Relax. Remember taht many people, including yourself may benefit from what you are doing.
Get information about the teacher beforehand. Try asking former students, and teaching styles. This gives you a first impression on a teacher. Just remember that first impressions don't always last, yet this gives you an overview on what to expect from him or her.

I don't guarantee that this tips will help you, but it works for me. This is not arranged from best to worst, yet all these are sure to help you in your quest to be close to your teacher. Sorry If this is the only post for January. Hope you compensate.

I'm ever so sorry na hindi ako nakapagblog for quite some time coz my computer broke down due to the persistence of my brother to play when supposedly, he should be studying. He opened the computer and pressed buttons allover, especially the reset button. So our computer's a bit busted and i am stuck on an internet cafe now trying to find something for that brother of mine which so happens to be facts about Ireland.

So many things have happened while my computer broke.

We watched the DLSZ vs. UPIS game 2 at the Araneta Coliseum along with the whole high school!! Todo cheering!!
We won by default on our movie in English, Traces against How much does it take to excavate a fragile soul?
We didn't get a single award in the awarding ceremony for the movies. :(
Quizzes and LTs piled up
Teachers getting more brutal esp. Ms. Sison and most especially to Mr. Guzman of the general music class

Speaking of Mr. Guzman, many of our batchmates have been suspected of plagiarism due to the reaction paper they submitted to him. Could it be favoritism? What if the student really writes that way? that long? there's injustice involved, and i'm sure that even though quite a number of SC people were involved as well, i surely hope that this scandal won't be a hindrance when entering college. Which leads me to ask the question, I f there had been an honor section, would this have happened? I know it sounds silly and far away, and maybe I am the only SC who hasn't given up just yet, because there's still a good chance it'll come back.

Gradewise, my ranking demoted a bit. I am top 30 in the batch yet i know something isn't right. I consulted Ms. Isidro after learning that the next person in terms of ranking to me has an average of 94 when rounded of. When I round of my gen. average, it results to 95 even after sir ezrel's revision of my physics grade from 92 to 94. I'll get to the bottom of this.

I'll try to go to the internet cafe more often para makapagblog. Hindi ako makapagblog sa cybernook or sa computer time na e. Feeling guilty ako. :P

Bait ni lolo!!!

I finally conclude that I won't be seeing my PS2 for a while, so i retreat to the shades of my PC. It's like beeing grounded for a nonsense reason, except I know the reason; that is to remove my brother's addiction to it. Alas, such cruel fate! It might bring me good, or nothing at all, but there's no denying that deep down inside, my PS2 is one of the things that keep me going each and every day in school. It bings me such grief to part at such a loving friend, but I can't seem to help it.

After my awakening earlier today, I expected it to be the usual [well, usual...] Sunday. Took a shower. Got dressed to get ready for mass... suddenly, pa knocked on the door and informed that I, my sister Annie, Lolo Apo and Lola Bing are going to eat out later, so we are to go to mass with them later in the day! Whoopee!!! But, in the process, I get to endure a lot of waiting and "helping" my brother and sisters... Annie needed help on word problems in linear equations in one variable. so i gave her a mini-test... So by 2pm, I slept a little and went on to lolo and lola's place [katabi lang ng bahay namin... coz our Silverio family has 1... 2... 3... 4... 5[including a small house and a house at the back of our current one].. 6... 7... 7 houses basically...] went on to see the newly built house... ganda sobra... wait till I get a digi cam sometime in the future... you'll get to see it... so on ewe went to St. Jerome by ATC to attend mass... nakasalubong ko si Angeline Dellosa bandang communion, former busmate ko.... saya... tapos ATC kami para magshopping... 6pm pa lang e... at first, window shopping muna... tapos, bumili na din kami ng tuwalya sa may isang tiangge na worth P700... tatlong P180 at dalawang P80... si lola at annie pumasok sa PC para bumili ng palda worth P1200... tapos tumingin silang dalawa sa isang store na mukhang may mga mura... nainip kami ni lolo... sabi ni lolo na may gusto siyang tignan... so sinundan ko siya... pasok kami sa Geox... bilihan ng sapatos... pinapili ako ng sapatos... so pili-pili... nakapili ako ng dalawa... but i had to choose one... so pinili ko ung mahal... natural! P5800... di naman tanggi si lolo... i had absolutely no intention of buying shoes this day.... tapos binilhan ako! parang nung binilhan nya ako ng P21000 na 25 inch na Sony Wega TV... bait!!! Yan si lolo... tapos magshopping... nag Dads-Saisaki-Kamayan kami... sarap, as usual... kuhanan ng maraming tempura at ice cream plus a dash of everything na mukhang masarap sa aking paningin...ehehe... tapos yan na...

Most boring weekend ever...

Okay pa ung mga nangyari throughout this week eh... nakausap ko si ms. rodriguez... small chat with the principal, ms. cruz... nagkaclub... okay naman ang nagyayari sa bird nest/house as well as the ballroom... ms. vicky laf3p as usual... a lot of honor section plans working well... quizzes are so-so..., economics LT went on smoothly... only bad part this week was me able to see bea sp cry... it was horrible... that was only the second time i saw her cry, and both were horrible... for the reason, just ask any group member of the english movie for the full details...

Nagkataon lang kahapon, i woke late, so hindi ko natago ang ps2 from my brother, who keeps pestering the maids and me about going to play at the ps2... ma got annoyed as well, and a little dispute between the parents has been going on... so, tinago ung ps2 ko, and i get the most boring weekend... gusto ko nga sanang pumunta kina JV upang makapagps2, kaso tinamad ako, kasi ala akong load... haaayyy...boring...

kanina pa, paggising ko 7: 30, I rushed to check the MTG sked sa algebra ntbk and found out na may meeting pala ngayon! I hesitated for a bit, and decided to go to san beda college alabang anyway... i wanted to find out how bad i went through quiz 1... so on i went, and came a few minutes before 9 am... pagdating ng teacher, welll, got a little excited sa lesson... biglang sinabi na may QUIZ!!! Preposterous... outrageous... insane... blasphemy... lahat ng maisip na adjective... well... magquiz na din... sobrang hirap ng quiz... I swear... pakita ko sa inyo pag binalik na... pinakita din sa akin ung result ng quiz 1, pero hindi pa ibabalik coz may hindi pa nagququiz... score? 13.... out of 30 something points.... sobrang bagsak... saya ng buhay....

festi ako after... ala pang NBA Live 2006 sa PS2... sa PC pa lang... oh well... bought radiata stories... pauwi, bago sumakay ng jeep... naabutan ko si Mark Silverio [cousin ko na nag-aaral sa DLSU-CSB] na may kasaman babae... tried to get his attention... pero hindi ako yata napansin...
may sunday pa... hope it gets better [the weekeend, i mean...]

REPORT CARD DISTRIBUTION Day

What a day it was yesterday... woke up to find my brother James na nangungulit na naman magps2... tapos i told my dad na gusto kong sumama sa zobel to see my card first hand... well.. ihahatid muna kapatid kong si james sa tunasan for his schooling... nang umalis na kami... pansin namin na ang nat'l road ay traffic... so onwards to expressway to susana heights... paglagpas namin ng tollgate... traffic din!!! magnanine na... kakalagpas pa lamang namin ng tunasan border... slept along the way syempre... zzzzzzzzzz... tapos we stopped over our drugstore in Parkhomes, Tunasan coz we called up James school asking him to be excused, which thankfully resulted to him really being excused from class... lakas ng ulan e! Stopped over for a little snack, and onwards to zobel... stopped over sa bahay para iuwi si james... buti na lang papuntang zobel ay hindi gan oong katraffic... well, what's there was the usual morning traffic, so ok lang... so we arrived in zobel... akyat akyat ng stairs and arrived in JC... sees Ryan and his parents... sees Ms. Vicky and Sir Alfonso and other parents... after Ryan's turn came ours... Pa signed up at si Sir Alfonso may dramatics pa... [Steven, palagay mo may honor ka? Ano ung mga honor mo last year? -Sir Alfonso] syempre sagot ko "2nd, 3rd, 3rd ata last year... di ko alam kung may honor ako... oh no!" Sabi ni sir nasa exemplary conduct awardees ako, so I rushed to a list posted by the cabinet near the teacher's table, and there I was! Yehey! :) Tapos sabi ni sir "To be first honor, you need to have no grade below 90 and an average of at least 94. You have no grade below 90 [something in my mind exploded and I rushed to the report card being given to Pa] and an average of 90 [rejoicing in mind!!]" Here is the gist of the grades:

Such an unlucky day... left my ID and diary sa bahay... bright side is.. alang club today coz bday ni mama mary, but hindi pala iyon... plan for the reading corner thing... boring... sabi ni sir ezrel din na tapusin ung handout til 15... so hard... paturo ako kay karen and jv... ehehe...

VOTE KAYO SA POLL KO SA MAY SIDEBAR!!! "Makabuluhang" questions sila.

bea a! di ako galit sa yo! promise.... lam mo naman di ako naggalit... not in my nature... unless you count na nagagalit ako sa sarili ko for stupid mistakes :P

First Term Overview

Overall, the first term went not really smoothly, nor roughly, yet more of a combination. It was not the best term by all means; primarily because all of SC are separated now, so it just doesn't feel the same to end a term na hindi kaming lahat nagkakasama. I remember those times, very well... kahit na puro tedious projects etyos... saya pa rin natin... O those good times...

My worst fears have been coming true... within this month, i would have to choose either GEM or Orchestra for the club sometime 2nd week or this week... depending on whether the contest on Grace Christian will push through... Currently, I'm in the orchestra and technically, I'm also a GEM member, so it just mixes my two addictions... I don't want to choose between them. I like them both. They were both manageable and can be done silmultaneously when the honor sec was still intact, due to the fact that GEM was every math class and Orchestra was on club and music times. Yes, indeed there are still music times, but how am i suppose to harmonize with everyone in the orchestra if i am on GEM? Likewise, how can I join and train for math contests if I am on the orchestra during club time? Although this will only last a month, I don't want to experience it again. My joining of Math contests and Orchestra playing shows how I can be a responsible lasallian. Its just unfair.

My other fears concern my grades. It has been slipping... quite significantly. Take a look at my final term scores:

ALGEBRA - 59/60 > carelessness
ECONOMICS - 67/ 80 > chamba
ENGLISH - 84/ 100 > abysmal
FILIPINO - 76/ 100 > I don't even want to comment on it
GEOMETRY - 55/60 > carelessness again
PHILOSOPHY - 77/ 100 > really really hard
PHYSICS - 50/ 60 > didn't see the paper

I just don't think its goof for a 1st honor... cmon... I haven't got a first honor in 2 yrs... cge na naman... filipino ung pamatay e... 41/55 pa ako sa LT2... hoping for a miracle...

My last fear is that my SC friends and classmates will be influenced by the regular class... it has been proven... countless stories of doing this and doing that, not studying for this, carelessness, weird humor, noisy classes, no hws, many more... its just so undeniable... indeeed not all are doing it or any of it sa ating mga SC... yet, there have been traces of it fluttering around the area. I don't like it. I don't like it one bit.... okay pa sana kung tayo tayo lang e [ganun e :P] a basta ganun... :)

SIPNAYAN review: nakakasabaw!

This is the contest that I, Bea and Julian will be joining along with 6 Seniors tomorrow sa Ateneo. Sobrang hirap, coz ung mga lessons ay bumabalik sa lessons sa trig [identities], deeper geometry, conic sections, back to FPC, probability, algebra [well, okay lang...] tsaka series and sequences na sa 2nd term pa sa algebra. Good luck sa min! Sayang, coz my cash prize [Php3000] cheap no? :P 3 thou pa rin yan!

Bad trip, ung isang number daw sa Algebra Finals, ung may analogy part... hindi daw b ung relationship, kundi last term! Idedebate ko yan kay ms. vicky. She'll see... tapos kahit 99.5- 99.9, 99 pa din daw un?!?!? di ko pa nacoconfirm kay sir laqui, but that may crush my hopes for 100. para daw maka 100 according sa senior kong nakausap nung SIPNAYAN review, kailangan talagang perfect lahat... pang-asar... i guess i'll settle in for 99 kung gayon...

English pa rin ang pinakamahirap na finals of all... I expected Philosophy, yet still English takes the lead, but only just... nanghula ba naman dun sa mga saying ng Catholic Church, Skinner, Sartre, Descartes and Ryle dun sa last multiple choice part...

THE HW:

1. In a bond paper, write at least 10 examples of table manners and etiquette
2. Using a paper towel, create a sample napkin folding. Attach it in an oslo paper. Label & write the steps [orig. sample] Deadline on Sept. 22.
3. Food lab starts Sept. 12-15 [new grouping assignments] Present sample menu next week. [FILIPINO DISHES]

Gliza's Despedida Party

I never really thought that she would leave, especially after many of the honor section have already left, namely Lawrence Lorico, Jan Monzon, Ogot Francisco, Anne Robles, Angelo Ostrea, Nika Calilung, Pablo Olivarez, Riel Ocampo, and soon to be... Gliza Marasigan...

How I read Gliza's personality:

Personally, I saw her as a very strong willed person, like many in our class. She portraited a lot of characteristics of a potent and diligent leader, and happened to be a very dependable person. I also known her to be a cream of the crop; she has always standed out in almost everything she did, especially last year. Every competition she entered, she shined through the top, even this year in the hall pass contest. I also know her to be a very compassionate and persevering person, witnessed by me during the times I was her partner in the Outreach last year. She also showed her dedication ineverything she do, with the help of us, her friends. I foresee her to continue on the legacy of her successful mother, whom she follows her whole life even though she has to leave for the time being her friends and loved ones here in the Philippines. Maging magaling ka sa lahat ng gagawin mo Gliza, at tandaan mong nandito lang kami palaging sumusuporta sa iyo.

What happened at the party:

Upon arriving

I never really planned to go to the party, yet I realized that this might be the last time I may be able to go to Gliza's house and meet with Gliza face to face in a couple of months or years, so I went on anyway. I arrived at 6pm, not knowing, yet unsurprisingly expected that I would be first because most of them arrived at parties "fashionably" late. Some girls were already there who went to Gliza's house straight from school, namely Monique, Kat, Dainie, Amanda and Jackie [if I missed someone, just indicate it.], of course including Gliza. I was shoved off downstairs because they were still changing. So I roamed around their house, analyzing sculpture, art and pictures for an hour. It was devastatingly hot in Gliza's house, so i frequently stayed by the front door not just to look and see whether someone's arriving, but to breathe and feel cool air.

While waiting

Eventually, I got bored and went up by 6:50 and found Monique and Kat seeing me. Kat goes to the Gliza's landline to talk to someone while we chatted for a little while. Soon, Gliza's dog howls and that made us realize that someone arrived. I rushed to check who it was, and it was Stephen. He was supposedly going to the party much later with Chio, yet he decided to come in earlier; apparently, he realized that he arrived fashionably early and so we chatted for a while in the room where Kat is. Jackie and Monique arrives and greets me and Stephen and we chat a little bit. Even more people arrived, and soon Ms. Rogador arrived along with Sam and Ramona. A lot more people came [my count came to 30, including Ms. Rogador and excluding Gliza]

The talk with Gliza's mom

Ms. Rogador was eventually greeted by Gliza's mom, and they chatted for a bit. Mrs. Marasigan tells Ms. Rogador all the details regarding their departure. I eavesdropped a little, but i don't want to sneak in their privacy a bit more. Soon everyone got restless, and so most of us went outside. Picture moments, kantahan moments, "chi-chi" dito, "chi-chi" dyan... I kept following Julian para may makasama. Everyone's restlessness was so evitable. By 8 however, we went inside to eat.

Kainan na, Kuwentuhan na

Many brought desserts, and there were hardly rice. Julian grabbed a KFC chicken he brought at once, while I, too grabbed a little lengua and KFC chicken plus some of the other food brought and rushed to eat. Yummy! Ms. Rogador, and some then made "chi-chi" around the house's swimming pool. Amazing tales and stories flooded here and there. From high school male teachers ballroom dancing to life outside honor section, it was amazing how much a few months' tales suddenly filled the area. Ms. Rogador really felt like our second mother right then and there. She really understood us like no other teacher has ever done before, and it was amazing.

Senti part

Time for the senti part. Aroung Gliza's living room, everyone gathered [except Chio, Bea Andaya and Sarah, who were still roaming around outside]. Ms. Rogador started with well chosen words that really touched our hearts, and then it was time for "the chiqs" to make their statements. Dainie tried to hide her sadness through some jokes, yet she eventuall said na kulang buhay niya na wala si Gliza; Kat, which was beside Gliza tried to comfort her as she spoke; Mariel was in tears, ruining her make-up; Amanda and the other girls went along; Alan plays a senti song with the guitar; all the other boys were listening intently. Mark offers that they sing a song for Gliza, namely "Especially For You" by M. Y. M. P. and this was really fun, as our emotions went along with the song, that it was really deep and sincere.

Ms. Rogador's Prayer

Ms. Rogador then made the final blessing through a prayer. As she went through her prayer, all the girls were really in tears and covered hands, due to the fact that Ms. Rogador's words really sunk beneath them that everything happening is true. She also blessed us for the finals we were to encounter and what a wonderful term we had. It was a very touching prayer that also enveloped me in sadness. Eventually she bade goodbye, and gave each of us a kiss in a cheek, which solidified my belief that she really is like our second mother na. We all went outside to say goodbye to her as she goes to ATC with Gliza's driver. [she was even planning to walk from Gliza's house!] Eventually, we continued the restlessness and food outside, some by the pool. And I went home by 10:30 pm.

So that's the party. We'll definitely miss Gliza, but one thing really striked me. They all missed the honor section, from the impressions I got. Some denied it, but I can read between the lines, that they really miss, no matter how small.

okay, simulan natin ang tuesday malas corner. di ko malaman kung bakit, pero i've always been unlucky every tuesday. started around grade 7 or 1st year ata. as in kahit sobrang maliit o malaki na malas, nangyayari.

simulan ko ngayong tuesday. alarm ng kapatid ko ginising ako. di ba naman pinatay! kaingay. tapos nakalimutan ko basahin ung kab 17-20 sa filipino. buti na lang nacompensate sa madaling kabanata na inassign sa min [coz malapit sa 17, which is kab18 napunta sa min] kalimutan ko rin english hw. sinacrifice ko hp6 reading lunch time to a library session para hanapin ang sagot. algebra lt false alarm lang. akala ko may mali na ako, un pala nanaginip lang ako. nakatulog ba naman ako sa lt! nanaginip pa. buti nagising ako ng ipapasa na papers. at least di malas at that instance.

dlsu math and stat camp wk 2. so excited! nga pala. dis is my new profile pic. ala lang:

so started pagka gisng ko quarter to 6. nagtutulug-tulugan pa ako. mga 6, natauhan na ako at nagpalit na and the usual. tapos naisip ko na humingi ng money sa lolo ko for hp6. alala ko si julian. kasama nga sa camp, tapos talagang pupunta ng power books! pila ng mahaba. so nakahingi na ako ng pera [lolo! bibili ako ng libro. Ung hardbound. ano iyon? harry potter. yung pang-anim na book. ngayon lang siya lalabas. magkano? mga 1000 ang huli kong tancha. Bilangin ko kung magkano ito. 1... 2... 3... wow! 2400! thank you lolo! ] (:P) talagang malakas ako sa lolo ko. ehehe. tapos kulitkulit kay dad na bumaba na para ihatid ako sa mcdo atc. along the way, the usual dicussion on politics., yes politics., sa car ito ginawa. ms. vicky calls [well actually properly mrs. vicky] and tinatanong kung nasan na kami. saya. tapos pagdating sa mcdo. ayan na si elaine. tapos carlo and nikki arrives. ms vicky nandyan na rin. medyo clueless siya sa mga gagawin.

tapos nalaman ko pagsakay sa bus na si julian nakalinya pa sa power books para sa HP & half blood prince at ihahatid ng kanyang driver sa DLSU na lang [sosyal!] yaman! pati si ronald. nax. di na namin hinintay si julian. tapos kuwento kuwento kay mrs. vicky sa bus. tungkol sa quiz 2 [yehey!!! higher ang kukunin niya! rejoice!!] 13 lang ako sa retest e. :( tapos sabi ko na ung quadratic eq ay natackle na natin nung grade 7 [sorry pahamak ako e] pero sabi ko nairefresh lang tayo. tapos kuwentokuwento sa kanyang mga students sa DLA at honor sec. [i got her on our side! yehey! more teachers and staff on our side! PLAN WORKING! ehehehehehehe * cunning laugh]

after this, puntahan na sa classroom. sakayan sa elevator. wee!!! wag daw maingay. may mga graduate nagaaral.

tapos onwards to the classroom. alang blackboard, just a white wall and cool armchairs. ginamit nilang teaching materials mga madaling magoverheat na OHP, laptop w/multimedia proj at stero w/ mic. kami ni ronald, since pareho kaming STAT-ACSCI [Statistics-Actuarial Science] magkatabi.

punta ako sa Brochiere para paayos PS2 ko. in the end checkup lang coz sira IC thingy and needs p2500. i got only 1200. so bili na lang ako ng cd sa pc magic and pasalubong from kfc. and umuwi na ako thru jeep.

FANTASTIC and DISASTROUS weekend

What a beautiful weekend I had. Nagsimula paggising ko kahapon ng quarter to 6. Atat na magpunta sa Mt. Mcdo para sa meeting with Sir Laqui for the DLSU Mathematics Circle and Statistics Camp. Di ako makapagdecide whether civilian or uniform ako sa pagcommute. Dalawang sakay ng jeep pa naman ang sasakyan ko bago ako makapunta sa mt. mcdo. [alabang palengke &zapote/moonwalk/sm/atc jeepneys] in the end, uniform na lang, kahit na kahiyahiya ng konti coz very similar to the janitor's uniform at SM. Tulog pa parents ko so hingi na lang ako ng allowance sa lolo/lola ko. nagpaalam naman na ako nung thursday pa, so they know. so commute-commute. took about 30 minutes coz of traffic by front of Metropolis. upon arrival at mt. mcdo, saw ronald miranda and parents [kasama ko siya sa camp] but no sir laqui. was expecting julian or michael, but didn't came. ordered fries, coke float & hash brown. sir laqui arrives. greets. discusses about honors class, kabagalan ng math teachers [especially ms. patty], the camp, and others who will be joining. turns out michael backed out [daw] and julian would be absent that day coz parents too afraid to let him out to DLSU coz of the rallies/anomalies around gov't and DLSU's stand, etc. parang ganun [dba julian?] ung pumalit kay michael was elaine. didn't realize at first that all 3 of the other GEM members in class were invited during eco quiz with ms. ayen [sir alfonso was absent that period, came to school around community activity time.] kaya pala. waited a little while and saw nikki [tama ba spelling?] and carlo, 4th years along with ronald. so 5 lang kami dahil wala si julian [either way 6 lang kami totally, and DLSU expected 12]. Sets out of DLSU. sir laqui leads rosary. eats fries while praying [sorry!] sees polluted air of metro manila thru skyway. sees csb for the first time and arrives inside DLSU for the first time. admired by view. never felt more lassalian. sir laqui tours us along dlsu while waiting for 8am registration. goes to the chapel. very peaceful. prayed for success of camp and recovery of stephen. goes to the library. sees the cyber nook of the library. astig siya. ganun magiging itsura ng cybernook sa DLSZ. laki. 4 floors. fell in love with the library. thinks that cara and hans ay mamemyesta sa library. sees artifacts and medallions and sculptures. loved it. sir laqui asks where we'll study after zobel. of course all answered DLSU and some other colleges, dont think anyone mentioned ateneo except nikki. goes to registration booth by a big covered court. reevies materials [envelope, notebook,2 panda ballpens, pencil.] sees that i am on the stat-acsci group sees other schools. 27 other schools [plus us so thats 28.] 286 more hs students [plus us so 291 and julian 292.] no zobel alumni visible yet. no ateneo [yehey] no chiang kai shek [YEHEY!] philsci present [awww sayang] no monzon [hmmm....] goes to william hall audi for the opening ceremonies. sees a zobel alumni [andrew] on one of the proctor thingys. goes inside. admires audi seats. has a built in table/surface that can be brought in our out depending on event on audi. puts down materials. waited til about 9. opening remarks. president of DLSU mathemetics circle ay payat mukhang nerd. everyone intoduced themselves on stage [i mean EVERYONE as in students/delegations from each school]. saw julius pilapil from divine light academy. mems from MTG YMIITP sa Richville hotel 2 years ago with YB. finished around quarter to 11. ate packed food na provided. sliced bananas, beef teriyaki, bottled drink, rice. bad luck occurred. spilled sauce on uniform. had to always cover it now with envelope or hands. very stupid of me. as in dumi sa may lower half ng polo. buti they understood [awwwwww... bait.] goes back to william hall audi. pictorial comes out next. bad trip. hirap takpan nung dumi. nagkausap din kami ninjulius. asks him if he knows ms vicky. says that he knows and passes it around to his fellow DLA schoolmates. nagulat din sila [ehehehe expected.]. goes back to the covered court. saw another zobel alumni [didnt catch his name] accounting student. hirap daw sa dlsu. 8/10 sa quiz bagsak na. ang 9 o perfect lang daw ang pasado. kahit ung mga nagaccounting sa zobel ay nahirapan. mid term lang sa kanila lahat ng napag-aralan sa zobel. tinanggal pa ngayon. patay. grouped according to CAP 1, CAP 2, BAP 1, BAP 2 and STAT-ACSCI. Carlos and woulb-be julian sa BAP 2. Nikki and Elaine sa CAP 1. i and ronald sa STAT-ACSCI. punta kami sa room 504 sa SJ building. taas ng floor sa building. kakapagod. buti nasa harap ng line of humigit 100 students. kasama si ronald. sat up in front. astig ung room. may ohp , dlsu and phil flag, 102 seats, ung pagkaayo ng seats parang orchestra room a CPA. pataas. waited for the lecturer. nagpaparint pa raw ng acteate materials. inihanda ang OHP. pasok isang formidable looking woman. Ms. Michelle Tan. Part Time lecturer daw ng statistics. puti at malaki. pero magaling magturo. she teaches a little bit faster than the pace i wanted, pero galing putik. galing. dicussed about statistrics being a science, different kinds of stats, probability, random tables, standard deviation, mean , mode, variance, median. nagka activity by the middle na namili siya ng 10 students from the group. pili si julius and some others. pina act out sila ng anything sa harap. did a religious song thingy na sabog. okay pa rin. at least may nagawa. ronald sinuggest na pasayain sila ng numa numa thingy sa xda II niya. sabi rin ni ms. tan na hindi nya alam kung bakit siya nandoon, o bakit kami nadoon, basta sinabi lang daw sa kanya na magturo sa classroom na yoon. saya. weird. anyway, around three natapos. sabi ng host sa opening ceremonies kanina ang mangyayari sa following weeks and about DLSU. tution na pala dito is P57000-67000 per semester. pinagyayabang na matagal nang may lvl 4 accreditation ng paascu ang DLSU; ang ateneo recently lang. pati daw mga comp stat computers sa DLSU mahal. may program doon na specifically for stats and DLSU is paying P100000 per month PER COMPUTER. mga 20-30 computers siguro yon. either way, mahal. So far... plan has been working... nameet ko si ms. isidro at ms. lori de vera kahapon lunch time and i started to tell ms. isidro my views about heterogeneous sectioning atbp.... but i relayed one important task that i wanted her to do... that is to let her compare our third term grade last year to our 1st term grade this year... wala rin si ms sison kahapon!!!! Sobrang disappointed lang ako sa groupmates ko sa THE. Sabi ko sa kanila kahapon na magmeet sa library para sa manila paper, and look what haoppened... si ryan lang pumunta.... enz late dumating... berna bineg ko pa na simulan pa.... promised to do it on sir alucilja time...come on!!! that was the best time we could have done the manila paper!!! pero at least natapos...

Today naman, hindi ko inexpect na magtatake action kaagad si ms isidro after my talk with her.. umabot raw ng 2 period ung section a SC members.... ehehe... syempre.... tapos kami... sammy di na kapunta sa meeting coz of O.P. sa music... pero lima pa rin kami.... False Hope

Is there one thing I really don't like? Yes. And this is false hope. How can some people give people something that they can believe that would give them something good in return? A confirmation should have been done. The information should have been reviewed to perfection to the extent of creating no mistakes. False hope is something that once given and revealed, it can unleash one of the most deepest and troubling emotions. It can bring out the utmost regret in one's mind. It can remove the meaning of the word "hope" to a person who has a dream. It can unleash chaos upon its surroundings. Thats how devastating false hope can be.

MTG Philippines and my school, De La Salle Zobel has been two of my most respected industries and companies in my entire life. They have given me a lot of opportunity to enhance my skills, broaden my horizons and engage in very memorable and fruitful experiences; however, this is not enough. I absolutely believe that not everyone is getting the proper support they need in order to achieve excellence in the formation of the whole person and securing higher levels of student achievement. Indeed, De La Salle Zobel has been a very competitive school. Indeed, De La Salle Zobel has been great in producing quality athletes. Indeed. De La Salle Zobel has been progressing in the business for 27 fruitful years. Isn't 27 years enough to see that giving false hope is absolutely wrong? How can the teachers concentrate and maintain higher levels of student achievement if each student higher levels of capacity is being treated as a student who doesn't even know the simple identity of himself? How can they ensure that De La Salle Zobel does not only produce quality athletes but also quality mathematicians, historians, lawyers, scientists, doctors and managers? This is through the proper support given by the school. Not just proper, but adequate support; even better, more than adequate. If one isn't given proper support, why should he even strive for excellence? If one isn't striving for excellence, how can you produce quality leaders of the future? If you can't produce quality leaders of the future, what will happen to our country who is currently undergoing a crisis? Time is short. Four years of high school and no more. Gone. Off to take on a new challenge. I don't blame MTG one bit, but at the least, the school should have tried to let us in the competition and give us a new hope in a very spirited way in order to replace the false hope.

Last year ko nang itry to eh.... ngayong wala GEM tapos nawala din MTG!!! I so deeply regret not joining last year when i could have... dapat sinamahan ko na si eibee doon sa bene... kaming dalawa lang pumasa e [well kami lang nagtake sa DLSZ e na 2nd yr] AN OUTRAGE I TELL YOU!!!! IPEPERFECT KO ANG GEOMETRY LONG TEST IF ITS THE LAST THING I DO!!!! [or else may P20 mula sa akin si hans] Dapat sa amin na ung plus 2 kanina e!!!! Kung nakuha lang sana namin ang 1st question.... I'll prove to Ms. Patty na kaya ko ito.... You'll see...

OPERATION: HONOR'S CLASS

oo nga pala... i promised to give you my plan to bring back the honors class... I call this operation: OPERATION HONORS CLASS

First step to create the honor's class:
1. get support of some classmates/friends known to be near/acquainted with administrators [sorry:p hans isa ka dito kasi alam kong plano mong ibalik naman ang music class at ako honors class]
2. get support of teachers and administrators for our cause [alam ko ms. ayen and ms rogador definitely want the honor's class... mukhang napaside ko na si ms. camacho, kahit na close ako kay ms. almeria, mukhang walang paki... ms.isidro ang isa sa primary targets... 2nd term ko sya ipepersuade... papacompare ko ang grades namin last year and this first term para makita niya ung effect... after all... she is one of the persons receiving the ranking... so tama lang... paascu recommendation ito after all and arecommendation si not permanent... after all... according to the mission vision stement,nag-iiba talaga ang curriculum. (p.8 of diary last statement says: work towards the PROGRESSIVE INTEGRATION OF ITS CURRICULUM to secure higher levels of student achievement and holistic formation) at as far as i can see, heterogeneous sectioning does not go with this.... how can you secure higher levels of student achievement kung parepareho pagtrato sa inyo sa ibang estudyante? Yes, i hear na may programs na dinedevelop, pero kailan? tignan mo nga club promo... 3rd week of july na... unexplainable... i tell you... well yes maybe their planning it really well... but they should also plan it quickly or it won't be put into effect very effectively...
3. analyze the disadvantages of heterogeneous sectioning and advantages of having honor's class sectioning [sige hans may music section na rin... kung kaya ko...]
4. let the teachers and administrators know this
5. Last resort: 3 page thesis on how much the honor section is needed and how bad the heterogeneous section and submit it to the evp [desperado, totoo... ganyan ko kalove ang SC.. i want to have my last year of high school... i deeply regret ever laying aside all the times i could have been with all of them... i deeply regret being mayabang nung grade 7... being ksp nung first year... being weird pero tinanggap nyo pa rin ako nung SC...sorry guys talaga.... i just want to explain kung gaano kayo nakaafect sa kin throughout my high school life in a retreat.. not in lsyc retreat... but in a retreat kung saan tayo-tayo lang... i just dont want to go to college regretting not even thanking each and every one of you... yes lahat kayo...]

Another boring day

another boring day........ it all started with the usual panic twing naghahanda for PE class... kakatamad... nostalgia nanaman... Tapos it struck... CL QUIZ NGA PALA NGAYON!!!!! PATI PHYSICS!!!!!! tulog ulit ako.... zzzzzzzzzz..........pagdating sa skul... homeroom lecture about the cellfone stuff.... di naman kasi namin kasalanan kung bakit nawalan ng cellfone ung mga nasa section g and others.... what can we do? pabaya sila e.... dala dala ng celfone di naman pala maiingatan...[dont remind me of what happened to me last year. kwento ko na lang sa yo some other time in person.] Economics wasn't so bad... medyo inantok ako sa mg lecture ni sir alfonso.... pero no denying... hands down.. sya ay matinong adviser [nostalgia ulit (ms rogador, miss ka na namin!)] English naman ang tagal... halos di ko na makaya ung continuous copying and sir sabilano talking.... not that its bad... pero okay na rin... better than CL... at least sir cortel's quiz 2 is easier... just one essay question... easy squeezy... baduyyyy.... boring lecture about what is man again... fine.. so it was a little interesting... pwede na? Ang d boring science... kahit na "science marathon" at may quiz na medyo nakakaasar sa careless mistakes ko... nagkasw kami about the usage of vernier caliper and micrometer... ZERO AKO!!!! I'm so proud of myself...at least si bea and fran rin... YEHHEY d ako nag-iisa... I miss na ung mga bonding session ng soph-c lalo na kung mga ganito.... aaahhhwwwwww.... Now when i mean boring i mean filipino... as in most of the time nakadaydream ako... dun sa charades lang ako nagkagana.... tapos si chio and steph and alfred and herm asaran todo nanaman... labo.... okay lang... i just laugh with them... la lang.... hahahahahahahaha... p.e. was okay though... saya magcommentate.... galing ni leiron mag commentate... massy mag 3 point... enz and mikko mag drive in... carlos mag post-up and lay-up... ako naman... scorer.... si rodney naman palaging napapansin ni ms almeria kc alam niyang magaling si rodney and he could do better than just sitting around [or maybe i interpreted it wrong...] To my groupmates sa lab... here's our data kanina and the formula for percent difference:
